Close your eyes - Imagine this...

While it might’ve taken a while for 1982 to get it’s engine revving, appointing Bertha Wilson as the first woman to sit on The Supreme Court of Canada on March 4th has solidified 1982 as a year for the history books. With Bertha being nicknamed ‘the most powerful woman in the world,’ she easily kicks any and all headlines other (like space trials, nuclear tests and even the collaboration of musical powerhouses Paul Mccartney and Stevie Wonder,) to the curb as she paves the way for other women with her momentous win. On the flip side of the coin, ‘I Love Rock and Roll’ by Joan Jett & the Black Hearts is still going strong a year later and dominating the music charts, proving that women are just as capable at killing the punk rock genre.
